HJEMKOMST CENTER

In 2020, BrownKnows Design created an exhibit concept plan (content development, script writing and sample graphics) for the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County at Moorhead, MN for their Hjemkomst Center Viking Ship exhibit. In 2021, this project moved into the schematic design and fabrication phase, with exhibit installation and re-opening completed in July 2022.

To tell the Hjemkomst's stories, we combined archival photos, journal excerpts, and original research to provide context.

Selections from the Hjemkomst Center's collection of artifacts and video footage are showcased in new maple kiosks and vitrines.

While the ship's story surrounds her on the outside walls, other "Hjemkomst Facts" displays get visitors close-up to discover notable features of the ship.
